Study Group

The DotNETLearn User Group is adding a study group to enable us to be more directed and participatory than is possible with just our main meeting presentations. We have a consensus tutorial text. Each month pre-readings are announced. The study group meets from 6pm-7pm prior to the main meeting. The session starts with lecture and demos from the assigned materials and is followed by Q and A. Your participation and interests are the determining factors in the nature of the study group.

Our selected text is:

Learning C# by Jesse Liberty (book details)

Jesse Liberty also wrote a VB.NET text which follows the same structure as the C#.NET volume. Whether we are able to intersperse VB.NET examples along the way or whether you get the VB.NET volume on your own and work on its examples at home, the study group sessions will help you breeze through the VB.NET book with ease. It is:

Learning Visual Basic .NET by Jesse Liberty (book details)

Pre-reservation is not required to participate. However we recommend that you contact Bob Tattersall at rtatt@comcast.net so he can set you up with access to the special pages we are dedicating to the study group on our Web site and to the discussion group section.

The first meeting will be on May 16th.  If you decide to join us please pick up the book and read the first 2 chapters.
